Tickets for the December 11 Granite City Radio Theatre are on sale here.
Announcement: Andrew Walesch will be featured as the guest musician for the December 11 show! An in demand singer and pianist, Andrew is known most notably for his unique approach to, and almost obsessive knowledge of, The Great American Songbook. He certainly ventures outside of jazz and the standards, however, and can be found anywhere from a classy cocktail lounge to a rugged piano bar taking requests from just about every genre.
Tickets for this show, which starts promptly at 7:30 p.m., are $10 general admission, and a we've added a new student ticket rate of just $5!
KVSC is proud to once again present the Granite City Radio Theatre live from the Pioneer Place on Fifth on December 11.
Comprised of a radio drama serial, live music, and various comedic sketches in-between, local professionals and students will once again be putting their best foot forward in this unique live radio production.
Thank you to everyone who made the Oct. 23 show very successful! Season Two got started with a strong start and we are excited to be able to present three more episodes this year.

Last season, the Granite City Radio Theatre tipped its hat to everything Central Minnesota has to offer. Nearly selling out all four shows, the first season was a great success.

Team Registration begins Monday, December 16!
The competition has been mounting for 35 years and high performance teams are suited up as KVSC 88.1FM presents… TSPN: Trivia Sports Playing Network.
Trivia teams, pre-season training starts now for February 7th to the 9th of 2014.
Knowledge Athletes prepare to get those endorphins pumping as the game is bound to be fierce and physically exhausting as only one team can be the champion in this 50-hour competition.
From Football to Soccer, Hockey to Volleyball, Cross-Country Skiing to Shuffleboard… all trivia athletic skills, knowledge, and strategy will be tested by the Referee Question Writers. Trivia Volunteers, we need you for all 50 hours of the invigorating competition to be the umpires who score the plays.

The Music Department is alive and well at KVSC! The awesome KVSC Music Department has always been the lifeblood of Your Sound Alternative, they do the best they can to get the best music into our studios.
The CMJ charts represent the top 30 most played albums at KVSC and are updated each week--keep up with best new music courtesy of the DJs at your local community-supported radio station. You can also check out past albums of the year at KVSC or contact the Music Department to submit music.

Our social media posts are as diverse as our programming. In addition to providing info on the music we play, we post news stories from a variety of sources, information about local events (especially arts and cultural events), funny photos and videos, and just about anything we think you'll be entertained by or can learn from.

Have you taken the time to listen to any of KVSC's podcasts lately? KVSC is Your Podcast Alternative and we are proud of the content we have created on our podcasts page.
Most recently, Untold Stories of Central Minnesota series has highlighted untold stories of the region; including the founding of St. Cloud State University, the battle of Gettysburg as told by Melrose Area Museum, along with many other stories of regional history and culture.
The KVSC Music Department is constantly podcasting interviews with local, national, and international musicians. The KVSC News Department is producing features of relevant events and issues and podcasting them as well.

So, you heard a song, but missed the DJ telling you what it was called and who sang it. Don't sweat it. Just go to our Spinitron page.
Located in the "Listen Live" player on the upper right of all KVSC.org pages, you can see who's on the air and what artist and song is currently playing. Also, if you click the host's name you can view their profile. If you click the track name, you can view the entire play list in real-time via spinitron.com.
The archive link gets you to all playlists by all hosts. Try it out for yourself!

While listening to your favorite program on Your Sound Alternative, have you ever wondered who the voice is behind the microphone? That's a great question! KVSC attracts more than 70 volunteer deejays, so it can be hard to keep up. To see who is hosting your show of choice, check out our Program Guide. KVSC is proud to be part of the AMPERS radio network. Ampers is a network of 15 independent community radio stations in Minnesota. Each station is locally managed and programmed by and for the local communities they serve. Ampers is the largest network of community radio stations in Minnesota and one of the largest of its kind in the United States. From Grand Marais and Thief River Falls to Mankato and Winona, and just about everywhere in-between, we’ve got Minnesota covered. Our combined audience is about 250,000 devoted listeners.

KVSC.org presents an original production--the amazing journey of Holocaust survivor Dr. Henry Oertelt. The entire podcast series is presented in episodes of the 18 critical events that led to Henry's survival of five Nazi concentration camps and a three day death march. Henry Oertelt's compelling book, "An Unbroken Chain" was recorded and engineered at the KVSC studios. KVSC is sincerely honored to be the audio archival source of Dr. Oertelt's eternal message of hope and dignity.
