2013 St. Cloud Air Show Cancelled
04/02/2013 - 4:24 AM
Citing federal sequestration budget cuts, the 2013 St. Cloud Air Show has been cancelled. The cancellation was confirmed Tuesday afternoon by Central Minnesota Boy Scout Director Dave Trehey, who were organizing the event.
The show was scheduled for July 20 and 21 at the St. Cloud Regional Airport. The cancellation is due to sequestration budget cuts that forced main draws like the Navy Blue Angels to cancel their performance. The Blue Angels have grounded at least eight other air shows across the country.
According to Trehey over 60,000 people were expected to attend the air show.
Event officials say ticket refund information is available on the St. Cloud Air show website , but most ticket holders will receive an e-mail message and refunds will be issued within 5-10 business days.
