25 "Move Over" Tickets Issued
08/24/2009 - 10:55 AM
Police issued 25 citations and 40 warnings last Thursday to drivers who failed to move over one lane when they came upon officers parked along the shoulder with emergency flashers on. The Central Minnesota Reduction of Accidents for Safe Highways Task Force, or “CRASH Task Force,” heavily patrolled Highway 15 in St. Cloud to target violators of the “move over law.” The goal of the task force is to reduce serious injury and fatality crashes. Besides the move over law violations, officers also issued a DWI arrest, an open bottle violation, and two driving after withdrawal violations. The CRASH task force is made up of officers from law enforcement agencies all over Central Minnesota.
