Archived: A St. Cloud Teenager Is Facing Multiple Charges After Allegedly Stealing From Multiple Locations

A teenage boy is facing charges including 1st and 2nd degree burglary after allegedly stealing personal belongings from multiple locations Monday afternoon.

St. Cloud Police Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says officers were called to the 3100 block of Veterans Drive where a suspect was seen going through personal belongings in the home. He then fled the scene after being spotted by the homeowner. A Stearns County bloodhound was used to track the burglar.

Later in the day, St. Cloud police were called to the 2700 Block of 7th Street North after a person listening to the police scanner reported seeing the suspect at the location. Police chased the suspect but he got away again. The teenager was finally captured in the area of 25th Avenue and 5th Street North and gave police a false name. He was later identified as a 16-year-old from St. Cloud.

The teen had property belonging to another person which led officers to discover a second burglary location at the 1000 block of 33rd Avenue North.

Police say the teenager had two felony warrants for his arrest regarding other burglary related charges.

He was taken to the Stearns County Jail on multiple charges.
