A man is dead after being found floating and unresponsive in Eagle Lake on July 4th.

According to the sheriff’s report, Sherburne County Deputies were called to the 23000 block of 188th Street in Orrock Township for two people in Eagle lake floating and unresponsive. When Deputies arrived, they administered CPR to 46-year-old Daniel Peterson of Big Lake. Peterson’s sister, 49-year-old Kris Biser was breathing on her own after neighbors rendered first aid.

According to witnesses, Peterson was attempting to charge his boat battery while the boat was in the water. Peterson was standing in about 20 inches of water when he lost his footing and fell in the water while holding the battery charger. Biser witnessed the fall and attempted to help her brother by running into the water. Biser was also electrocuted and was unconscious. Neighbors pulled the electrical cord from the socket and pulled the two from the water.

Biser was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance. Peterson was taken to HCMC by air but passed away on Sunday, July 7th.
