A St. Cloud man has been hospitalized after crashing his car on Saturday afternoon.
St. Cloud Assistant Police Chief Jeff Oxton says that officers responded to a one-vehicle crash on Riverside Drive Southeast. When they arrived they found a car that had left the road and crashed into a tree. The driver was injured in the crash, but he was the only person in the car.
A witness saw the vehicle driving erratically at high speed. Investigation showed that the driver lost control of the vehicle, which caused him to leave the road and crash.
The driver, 29-year-old Mohammed Abdulla Murshed of St. Cloud, was taken to the hospital for treatment of his minor injuries.
Police say Murshed showed signs of intoxication at the scene. Officers got a search warrant to collect a blood sample from him to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol. Charges relating to DUI and careless driving are pending toxicology results.
