Benton County sheriff's deputies in the Violent Offenders Task Force arrested a man Monday night in Foley on an arrest warrant. 34-year-old Jeremiah Schwartzkopf from Clear Lake was wanted on previous charges of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.

Chief Deputy Troy Heck says they're investigation into Schwartzkopf's activities allegedly lead to believe he had a handgun and was using controlled substances. The Task Force watched a residence in the 300 block of 7th Avenue in Foley and saw the suspect in the residence.

After getting a search warrant, the Stearns-Benton SERT team arrested Schwartzkopf without incident at the residence. He is being held in the Benton County Jail.
