COLD SPRING, Minn. - The funeral for a Cold Spring police officer killed in the line of duty is set for Wednesday.
Thirty-one-year-old Tom Decker was ambushed Thursday and shot twice while responding to a report of a suicidal man. He was married with two sons and two daughters.
His family on Saturday said the visitation would be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Saint John's Abbey and University Church in Collegeville.
Below is a map of the procession map for Officer Decker. Out of respect, you are asked not follow this route exactly. However, you are able to watch from an adjacent street.
Up to 2,000 officers from around the country could attend Decker's funeral at St. John's Abbey and University Church in Collegeville. After the service, a procession will escort his casket through the community he served, and to St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Luxemburg, where he will be buried.
Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered that flags at state and federal buildings be flown at half-staff until sunset Wednesday in Decker's honor.
