02/19/2013 - 3:30 AM
30-year-old Michael Lasart Dagan
A community notification meeting concerning a level three sex offender who has moved into St. Cloud will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21.
The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. at St. Cloud City Hall. The meeting is concerning 30-year-old Michael Lasart Dagan, who police say moved to the St. Cloud area on Jan. 30. Dagan contacted authorities on Feb. 12 and changed his address to “homeless” but still in the city of St. Cloud. Dagan served time for sexual assault after he entered a woman's home and used a weapon in the assault.
A level three sex offender is one that is most likely to be a repeat offender. Sex offenders are required by the Community Notification Act to register with local law enforcement when they move. Law enforcement officials hold public meetings to help reduce the risk of re-offending and to keep the public informed.
