An Annandale woman was hospitalized after a crash near St. Augusta Tuesday night.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says 38-year-old Jennifer Lee Olsen was injured after her van was hit by 19-year-old Dean Allan Kivisto of Cokato just before 8 p.m. She was driving on County Road 7, north of Dellwood Road, which is about two miles south of St. Augusta.

The report says Olsen was traveling south when Kivisto, who was traveling north, lost control of his pick-up truck and crossed over the center line, crashing into her van. He received only minor injuries.

The sheriff’s office says speed and icy road conditions appeared to be a cause of the crash and remind drivers to drive appropriately for the road conditions in the winter.
