Archived: Crash On County Road 26 Sends Man and Turkeys Rolling Into Ditch

A crash Saturday morning on County Road 26 caused one man to roll his truck with hundreds of baby turkeys.

Stearns County Sheriff Don Gudmundson says just before 7 a.m. 25-year-old William Anderson of Vining was driving on County Road 26 when he did not stop for a stop sign. Anderson then hit 42-year-old Lisa Lenarz of Elrosa. Anderson rolled into the west ditch of County Road 26, carrying 17,100 baby turkeys in crates.

Anderson and Lenarz both had non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the Sauk Centre Hospital for treatment.
