District 14A Special Election Announced
01/09/2013 - 1:30 AM
A special election will be held to fill the open District 14A Minnesota House of Representatives seat.
The seat is open after former Representative Steve Gottwalt resigned. Governor Mark Dayton has issued the writ of special election and Minnesota Law states that the special election must be held within 35 days of the Governor’s orders.
Candidates who wish to file for the open seat have from January 9th until January 15th to do so.
If more than one person in a party files for the seat, a primary election will be held on Tuesday, January 29th.
Polls for the special election will be open the same hours as the general election, from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Polling locations are also the same as they were for the general election.
