The Department of Natural Resources is placing restrictions on burning in certain counties in Minnesota.

Minimal snow cover in areas of the state is causing burning permits requirements in Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, and other counties.

The DNR is advising people to dispose of leaves and twigs by compost to reduce the chances of wildfires.
