Archived: DNR Warns Of Rocks On Snowmobile Trails

Warm weather and a lack of snow fall this time of year are causing poor snowmobile and ski trail conditions.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says rocks are dangerous to trail users and riders, and most trails are not being groomed anymore.

State snowmobile trails are open until March 31 if conditions allow. If we get more snow in the next month grooming activity may resume. For now, some state trails and private landowners have closed their gates.

The DNR’s website will keep you aware of trail quality and closings. Currently, the best trails are in far northeastern parts of the state.
