Archived: Fire Department Asking Citizens To Refrain From Recreational Burning

The St. Cloud Fire Department is asking citizens that they refrain from recreational burning over the next few days due to the high temperatures and extreme wind conditions forecast for the area specifically for Tuesday, May 14th.

North Dakota is currently experiencing high winds and elevated temperatures that are causing extreme fire conditions and those conditions are expected to move into the St. Cloud area on Tuesday. The fire department is asking citizens to refrain from recreational burning between tonight [Monday] and Wednesday morning.

The main areas of concern are of those properties next to swamps, fields and woodland areas where a fire could easily get out of control.

This is not a recreational fire burning ban.
