Archived: Frostbite Is A Concern With Cold Wind Chills

Frostbite is a concern now that central Minnesota is experiencing wind chills colder than -25.

St. Cloud State University Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman says wind chills this cold puts exposed skin at risk for frostbite within 30 minutes.

For the rest of the week, folks can expect temperatures in the minus single digits for central and southern parts of the state and in the minus teens for west-central and northwestern areas.

St. Cloud is being hit with cold wind chills produced with below zero temperatures and a west-northwest wind between 8-18 MPH.

The National Weather Service issued a wind chill advisory that ended at noon Wednesday.
