Archived: Gov. Mark Dayton Appoints Seventh Judicial District Court Judge

Last week, Gov. Mark Dayton filled the court judge opening for Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District.

The Governor’s Office says Dayton appointed Timothy M. Churchwell to replace the Honorable David R. Battey. He will be chambered at Alexandria in Douglas County.

Churchwell works as a shareholder at Peters & Churchwell, P.A. and serves as an assistant to the district’s public defender. He’s also spent time as an attorney and law clerk.

Dayton says, “Throughout his career, Mr. Churchwell has shown his dedication to public service.” He also thanks him for willingness to serve the people of Minnesota.

The Seventh Judicial District serves Stearns, Benton, Becker, Clay, Douglas, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Otter Tail, Todd and Wadena counties.
