Archived: Governor’s Office Will Move Back To State Capitol

For about two years, the State Capitol has undergone construction to restore the building. Now, the public is invited to see it, share their thoughts and ask questions about the project.

The Governor’s Office says the restoration involved preserving the historic building in its original vision, updating the electrical and mechanical setup, and making sure it can serve Minnesotans for the next 100 years.

The Governor’s Office was moved to the Veterans Service Building during the restoration. Gov. Mark Dayton is moving his office back to the Capitol and wants to make sure people know how to reach him during the next few weeks.

Dayton’s office will be at the Veterans Service Building through Dec. 30, but closed the day after Christmas. Starting Jan. 3, state official offices will open in the newly-restored State Capitol. The Governor’s Office will be located in room 130. Buisness hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
