Archived: Grant Money Will Help Blind Children Learn To Read
Blind and visually-impaired children in the St. Cloud Area School District can get more help learning to read thanks to grant funding.
The Initiative Foundation says they donated $2,500 to the school district. The money is meant to buy supplies to help blind children create storybooks from their personal experiences.
The Initiative Foundation is a partnership of regional leaders and The McKnight Foundation, and it’s been serving central regions of Minnesota since the 1980’s. The foundation’s website says it aims to strengthen regional economy and communities while investing in business loans, nonprofit grants, programs, and donor services.
During this award period, the foundation gave 157 grants throughout central Minnesota.
