Archived: Investigation Into Foley Robberies Closes After Suspect Discovered

Police have closed the investigation of burglaries at two Foley restaurants that happened earlier this summer, after they have found a suspect.

The Foley Police Department says a search of 37-year-old James Edward Carson’s home revealed stolen items that connected him to many burglaries in Foley as well as Benton, Morrison, and Sherburne Counties.

Carson was arrested in Stearns County on July 22. Not long after, police were able to search his house.

Further investigations connected Carson to the crimes at Mr. Jim’s and Goodfella’s Bar and Grill in Foley, as well as Foley Lumber and a residential burglary in the area. The Mr. Jim burglary was reported on June 29, while the Goodfella’s incident took place on July 6.

Carson is currently being held at Benton County Jail. He is charged with four counts of 3rd degree burglary, one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and one count each of 1st degree damage to property and receiving stolen property.
