On Sunday afternoon, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office were called to the area of Mullen Road and 73rd Avenue in St. Joseph Township for a crash.

According to the report, 27-year-old Jared Slagter of Sartell, was driving westbound on Mullen Road when Slagter’s vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole. The utility pole was sheared at the base and the power lines were down across the road.

Stearns Electric and Great River Energy from Elk River were dispatched to the scene to address the damage. Slagter was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance to be treated for his injuries.

The incident is being investigated by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
