Man Dies After Driving Off Sauk River Bridge

A 23-year-old man died after his car struck the guardrail of the Sauk River Bridge on County Road 75 in Waite Park.
According to the St. Cloud Police Department, Jeffrey Duncan Sass of Clear Lake was traveling eastbound on County Road 75 when his vehicle struck the bridge guardrail. After striking the guardrail, the vehicle traveled over the bridge leaving the roadway and landing in the Sauk River.
When officers arrived on scene early Sunday morning Sass’s vehicle was resting on the driver side doors. Officers pushed the vehicle right side up so medical aid could be administered. Sass was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
