Archived: Man Released From Prison Removes Ankle Bracelet The Same Day
A man was arrested Tuesday morning in Waite Park after removing his electronic monitoring bracelet.
Waite Park Police Chief Dave Bentrud says on Monday officers were dispatched about 37-year-old Christopher Cox who was removing his monitoring bracelet. Officers found the device in a dumpster. Cox’s last known address was from Sartell, and he was just released from prison as of August 27 for a 3rd degree assault charge.
On Tuesday morning at about 6:30 a.m. officers were called to Asteria Inn and Suites for a medical call. Cox was found inside a bathroom in a motel room and was arrested without incident.
Cox was taken to the Stearns County Jail on a Department of Corrections Apprehension Order.
