Metro Bus Announces Changes To Dial A Ride Service
09/20/2012 - 1:00 AM

Dial-A-Ride will pick-up riders three-fourths of a mile from any fixed route seven days a week.
Metro Bus has announced that they will no longer provide Dial-A-Ride services to the general public to accommodate the high demand of Specialized Service riders. The Metro Bus Director of Operations, Tony Kellen says that they are adding more Specialized Service daytime hours and taking away general public late night hours.
Specialized Service is a door-through-door service where Metro Bus drivers provide assistance to riders with disabilities who cannot use the fixed route services.
Metro Bus is required by the Americans with Disabilities Act to accommodate all trip requests. Kellen says the new changes will help them meet all requests.
Dial-A-Ride will pick-up riders three-fourths of a mile from any fixed route seven days a week.
Applications for eligible Specialized Service riders can be found here.
