Archived: Minnesota’s Budget Surplus Is Greater Than Expected

The forecast is looking bright, but not just for the weather. The Minnesota budget is forecasted to have another surplus this year.

House Speaker Kurt Daudt says as lawmakers create the state’s next two-year budget, Minnesota is projected to have a $1.65 billion surplus. That’s $250 million more than the forecast last November.

Daudt is hopeful this surplus will lead to future growth, and tells us where he wants that extra money to go…
