A Paynesville man was treated for burns on his feet, arms, hands, legs and face after a fire accident Friday evening.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says a 42-year-old man was putting brush on a fire pit with bobcat equipment when it tipped forward into the flames. The man couldn’t tip it backwards and had to escape through the burning brush.

He was taken to the Paynesville Hospital and then transferred to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment in the burn unit.

The accident happened in the 15800 block along Old Lake Road in Paynesvile Township.

The Sheriff’s Office was helped by the Paynesville Police Department and Ambulance and the State Patrol.
