Archived: Police Chase Through St. Cloud Area Leads To Drug Charges

On Tuesday there was a police chase through the St. Cloud area.

According to St. Cloud police Chief Blair Anderson, an officer was attempting to pull over 35-year-old Andrew Morton and 31-year-old Stephanie Gregor on Highway 23 at 14th Avenue South a little before 10 p.m.

Morton started to pull off the road for the officer and before coming to a complete stop, sped away from the officer. This led to a police chase through St. Cloud and the surrounding area.

The chase ended when a Sartell Squad car utilized a Pursuit Intervention Technique or PIT maneuver in Sauk Rapids at Highway 10 and Summit Avenue. The whole chase lasted about 7.5 miles and no one was hurt and no property was damaged.

Morton and Gregor were throwing things out the window during the chase which lined up with packaging used for drugs. Methamphetamine was found in the car during the search and Morton, who was driving, appeared to be under the influence.

Morton was taken to Stearns County Jail and Gregor was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for observation after she indicated she may have swallowed some of the methamphetamine. Gregor’s condition is unknown.
