Archived: Red Flag Warning For Fire Danger Continues Today

A red flag warning for the highest level of fire danger continues for most of central and eastern Minnesota. The areas included in that warning are Alexandria, Little Falls, St. Cloud, the Twin Cities, Willmar, Marshall, Mankato and Rochester.

Temperatures will again rise to the 80’s and 90’s with wind gusts at 20 to 40 miles per hour. Because of the dry conditions, any spark from a discarded cigarette or other source could start a fire and it can quickly spread out of control.

There is a cold front coming through later today which will cool things down however, that won’t necessarily stop the dangerous fire conditions.
