Archived: Sartell Boy Hosts Neighborhood Olympics To Raise Money For Charity

SARTELL, Minn. (AP) – A 10-year-old boy in Sartell is hosting a neighborhood Olympics to raise money for charity. The St. Cloud Times reports Ethan Neid first hosted the event last year and donated the 150 dollars he raised to local charity.

This year he wants to do it again and his goal is to raise 200 dollars and gather donated stuffed animals for a children’s hospital in Minneapolis. The event Saturday at his home will include a noodle throw, hurdles, a bicycle race and a basketball game among the 18 offered activities. Food also will be sold.

His mother, Carrie Neid, says 30 family and friends are invited. She says her son wants to do it every year and eventually expand it. She also says she is so proud of him.
