Archived: Sartell Man Receives Citizen Life Saving Award

On Tuesday morning the Stearns County Sheriff’s office honored Kevin Hollingsworth with the notable Citizen Life Saving Award.

On June 15th, 18-year-old Hollingsworth was swimming at the Stearns County Quarry Park when he saw someone go under water and appeared to be in trouble. Hollingsworth jumped in the quarry and swam to find the man. When he did find the man, he was under water and unconscious. Hollingsworth then lifted the man above water and brought him to shore, where the man regained consciousness and fully recovered.

Sheriff John Sanner says that he is a shining example of how regular people react to a situation and perform in an extraordinary manner. Sanner also says that this award has been given out only one other time in the past 20 years, making it a pretty unique honor.
