Archived: SCSU Musicians Will Perform Several April Concerts

St. Cloud State University musicians are prepping for upcoming April concerts.

University Spokeswoman Anna Kurth says four different concert dates will feature SCSU’s different choirs and orchestra all around the St. Cloud Area. A fifth concert will feature an Indian Sarawati veena player, Nirmala Rajasekar.

The first concert will be the Spring Choral Concert featuring the SCSU Men’s Choir. The concert will be on Friday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Newman Center. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for children and seniors and free with an SCSU ID.

The SCSU Chamber Orchestra will follow the choral concert with guest pianist Zhang Qingyun. The orchestra concert will be on Friday, April 13 at 6 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. 

Her Story, Her Song will be performed by the SCSU Women’s Choir and the Cantabile Girls’ Choir featuring music faculty and accompaniment. This Concert will be on Tuesday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for students and free with an SCSU ID.

The Spring Choir Concert will feature SCSU’s Concert Choir and Chamber Singers featuring a Minnesota composer. The concert will be on Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. at St. Augustine Church. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors and free with an SCSU ID.

The final April concert will be guest artist Nirmala Rajasekar, a world-renowned performer of music from southern India. This concert will be on Tuesday, April 24 at 5 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. This concert is free and open to the public.
