Archived: SCSU Prof. Bob Weisman Gives Information On Winter Storms

Temperatures are expected to drop this week and parts of Minnesota are in a winter storm warning, according to St. Cloud State University Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman.

A storm system that hit central Minnesota Monday night is continuing to move north. It dumped 9.2 inches of snow on Fargo, 6 inches in Silver Bay, 4.1 inches in Grand Forks, and 3.2 inches on International falls.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has no travel advised in the hardest hit areas. This includes Highway 2 from Grand Forks to Bagley and Highway 27 in Alexandria and Little Falls going northward.

At 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, near the St. Cloud area, MnDOT reported a crash and vehicle spin out in Spicer and a crash west of Alexandria.

A winter storm warning is in effect until noon Tuesday for central and eastern North Dakota and northern Minnesota.
