The Provost of St. Cloud State University is accepting a two-year position at Metropolitan State University. Devinder Malhotra sent a campus-wide email to faculty, staff and student leadership announcing his interim presidency at Metropolitan State. He will remain at St. Cloud State through June 30.

The provost has been at university for nearly five years and says the experience has helped him grow personally and professionally. Malhotra says it has been an incredible ride and he has been privileged to serve as the chief academic officer.

The search for a new provost is expected to begin right away with a goal of naming a new academic leader by July 1. The provost and vice president for academic affairs, who reports to the President, is the chief academic officer of the university and is responsible for advancing the academic and scholarly life of the campus.
