Archived: Shots Fired In Sauk Rapids Armed Robbery

Sauk Rapids Police Officers were called to a robbery involving a handgun at 15th Street Northeast in Sauk Rapids, just before 7:30 p.m. Monday.

According to Sauk Rapids Police Chief Perry Beise, a black man in his 20’s, about 6 feet tall allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim while wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a bandana over his face. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and allegedly fired his gun twice during the incident.

Chief Beise says that the victim could not see where the suspect was pointing his gun when he fired it.

The suspect then ran to a four door sedan across the parking lot with the engine idling and fled the scene.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact the Sauk Rapids Police Department.
