St. Cloud Police Officers responded to a report of a person with a gun at a St. Cloud home Wednesday night.

Sergeant Jason Burke says officers arrived at the 2200 block of Liberty Glen Loop just after 9:30 p.m. to find 33-year-old Michael Anthony Paycer and his girlfriend, a 33-year-old from St. Cloud, inside.

Burke adds officers secured the perimeter while trying to contact Paycer. Shots were fired inside the home but no one was hurt.

The St. Cloud SWAT team and Negotiators then responded to the scene to help resolve the situation.

A search warrant was issued, and officers entered the home when Negotiators lost contact with Paycer. Paycer surrendered just before 4 a.m. the next morning, Burke says.

Paycer was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital before being booked at the Sherburne County Jail. He is facing charges of 2nd degree assault against his girlfriend, domestic assault, and reckless use of a weapon.
