St. Cloud Man Arrested After Leading Police On Car Chase

Abel is being held in the Stearns County Jail.
A 41-year-old St. Cloud man was arrested after leading the police on a car chase Friday night. The Stearns County Sherriff’s office and the St. Cloud Police were looking for Jason Alan Abel in connection to a violation of an order of a protection.
Abel was found near the St. Augusta Fire Hall where he fled the area in a car. The sheriff’s office chased Abel into St. Augusta but stopped pursuing him for safety reasons.
A short time after, the St. Cloud Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol found the car. They followed it to the area near South Junior High School where Abel abandoned the car and fled on foot.
He was found hiding under a deck after the area was secured by police.
Abel is being held in the Stearns County Jail as the incident is still under investigation.
