Archived: St. Cloud Man Arrested For Arson Over Three Years After Quarry Fire
A St. Cloud man has been booked after setting a fire that caused millions of dollars of damage at a quarry mine in Waite Park.
The Waite Park Police Department says 47-year-old Raymond James Curtis of St. Cloud was arrested on Tuesday three years after a fire was intentionally set at the Martin Marietta quarry on April 12, 2015.
Curtis is a former Martin Marietta employee. He was arrested after a follow-up investigation lead by state and local investigators and assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
The quarry is less than a mile away from Quarry Park and Nature Preserve.
Curtis is currently being held in Stearns County Jail on charges of first and second-degree arson.
