A St. Cloud man is suspected of three robberies that have taken place in the area since August.

Assistant Police Chief Jeff Oxton says a 26-year-old man was arrested Friday, Dec. 23, after allegedly robbing a liquor store.

Lavonta Devon Lofton was taken into custody when officers found him with a loaded 9mm handgun, which was reportedly stolen out of St. Cloud.

Before the arrest, Knotty Pine Liquors store, on the northeast side of town, was robbed by a masked person. The robber took out a gun, demanded money from the store clerk and ran. The suspect is described as a black man, 5 ft. 10 in. tall, with a black sweatshirt, white gloves, and bandanna over his face.

Investigators were able to track footprints in the snow from the liquor store. They found Lofton in the 10 block of 3rd Ave. NE.

Lofton is facing charges of possessing a stolen firearm and aggravated robbery. He could also face charges from suspected involvement in robberies at Super Americas on Aug. 31 and Dec. 11.
