The St. Cloud area Sertoma Club has named Cathedral High School teacher Dick McMcorrow their 2012 “SERvice TO “MAnkind” award winner.
McMorrow helped start non-profit organization Elimu Africa, which focuses on helping schools in Africa obtain books and other resources. Since 2008, McMorrow has lead Cathedral High School students on trips to Tanzania, where students provide services and gifts to the people they meet.
Students that went on the trip started their own non-profit organization called Village Fun. The organization helped the people of a village in Tanzania build a well.
Every year the St. Cloud area Sertoma Club honors a non-member in the community with the “SERvice TO “MAnkind “ award. Sertoma is a national community service organization that was started in 1912.
