Archived: St. Cloud Snow Emergency Rescinded

The snow emergency that was declared on Sunday for St. Cloud has been rescinded.

According to SCSU Meteorology Profess Bob Weisman, we experienced our coldest day of the season yesterday. With yesterday’s high only reaching 11 degrees, then the low temperature dropped quickly last evening to negative six degrees. The cold readings were also helped out by the new deep snow cover, which reflects more than 90% of the incoming sunshine back to space.

Weisman says that warm air coming into the state might have some trouble pushing the cold air away. So expect the high temperatures to get no further than the middle 20’s during the rest of the work week.
