Stearns County Sheriff's Department Responds to Avon Car Crash

On Saturday afternoon, police were called to a crash on County Road 54 in Avon.
According to the police report, 16-year-old Rachel Odenthal was going east on County Road 54 and crossing over the center line when she was struck by 26-year-old Misty Byland as she was going west. Byland had a 6-year-old passenger in her car at the time, and everyone was wearing their seatbelts.
Odenthal, Byland, and her passenger were taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance, with the passenger being listed as being in serious condition. The crash is still under investigation.
