Archived: Stearns County Proposes Change to Subdivision Ordinance

Getting an approval for a minor subdivision plot in Stearns County could get a little easier.

The Stearns County Commissioners say they will hold a public hearing next month to consider changing the current subdivision ordinance. Changes that might be made include allowing the Environmental Service Director to sign for plot changes rather than having the land owner wait for the monthly Board of Commissioners meeting. Also townships would be required to reduce or eliminate the number of meetings landowners would have to attend to get plot approval.

Any other suggested changes should be brought to the Stearns County Commissioner’s public hearing on April 18. Or you can mail in suggestions to Angie Berg at the Steans County Enviromental Services Department, Administration Center, Room 343, 705 Courthouse Square, St. Cloud MN 56303.
