Archived: Stearns County Sheriff Asks Public To Remember Jacob Wetterling

The Stearns County Sheriff’s department is asking the public to remember the 25th anniversary of the abduction of a Central Minnesota boy.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner is asking for residents to take a moment out of the day to remember Jacob Wetterling and all other missing children. On this 25th anniversary, Sanner is asking for residents to leave a porch light on to remember Jacob.

11-year-old Jacob Wetterling was abducted from St. Joseph Township on October 22nd, 1989. The search for Wetterling hasn’t stopped as the Wetterling family along with the community and law enforcement on the local, state, and federal levels have worked to find Jacob and bring him home.

Sanner is asking for all of us to make “a personal commitment to never forget or take for granted the many blessings we do have in our lives as they can be taken from us.”
