Archived: Study Finds St. Cloud State’s Economic Contribution

A study has determined that St. Cloud State University has contributed a large amount to Minnesota’s economy.

A St. Cloud State spokesman says the study determined that the university contributes almost $700 million to Minnesota’s economy. 

The study conducted by Pennsylvania-based consulting firm Parker Philips also notes that around $45 million is generated annually through charity and volunteerism, while just under $40 million is annually made through tax revenues for state and local government.

St. Cloud State also has impressed in job sustainability. Over 5,500 jobs are supported and sustained by the university.

Minnesota State commissioned the study.
