Archived: The Salvation Army’s Largest Food Drive Kicks Off in March

March is Minnesota Food Share Month and all donations made to the Salvation Army’s food shelves this month will be matched.

Media Relations Director Jeffery DeMars says March has the largest food drive in the state that goes towards the Salvation Army. Anything donated to the food shelf will be proportionally matched thanks to Minnesota Food Share’s March Campaign.

DeMars says there are two main ways to donate. First you can make a monetary donation online these donations give food shelves more flexibility to buy perishable items like meat, dairy, and fresh produce. Or you can donate nonperishable food, paper products, or hygiene items in person at your nearest Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army Northern Division has been serving all 140 counties of both Minnesota and North Dakota since 1886. They have also created a video to show how your online donations will be spent.
