Archived: Two Men Are At Large After A Burglary In Waite Park

Police are searching for two men after a burglary last Thursday night in Waite Park that left a home ransacked.

Waite Park Police Chief Dave Bentrud says just before midnight, two men forced their way into a home with handguns. One man held the family captive while the other searched for valuables throughout the house. After taking from the house, the men forced their way into the business next door. This tripped the alarm and alerted police.

The men got away with an undetermined amount of cash and jewelry. One man is described as five foot nine and around 250 pounds. The other man is around six foot tall and has a thin build. The men fled and left the family unharmed. A search for the men via the K9 unit was unsuccessful.

The two men are still at large. Anyone with information can call the Waite Park Police Department at (320)-251-3281 or report a tip to the Tri-County Crime Stoppers at (800)-255-1301.
