Two men from the St. Cloud area were arrested in Foley early Saturday morning.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says that the men were stopped at a traffic stop after a deputy noticed the car swerving and driving slowly. When he approached the vehicle, the deputy smelled marijuana and alcohol coming from the inside of the car. The occupants, 23-year old Nathaniel Golterman and 18-year old Derian Gordon, admitted they had been drinking.

Gordon told the deputy after stepping out the car that he had a pistol on him. The pistol was confiscated and it was discovered that it was stolen.  After searching the vehicle marijuana and several Xanax pills were found.

Golterman was given a citation for several driving violations and was released from Benton County Jail. Gordon is still being held for several charges including possession of stolen property and a controlled substance.
