A man was extricated early Thursday morning after rolling his car into a ditch near Collegeville Township.

Stearns County Sheriff Don Gudmundson says at 1:15 a.m. 34-year-old Edwin Nelson of Watkins was driving south on County Road 50 near Fruit Farm Rd on a curved section. Nelson went into the ditch and hit a driveway approach, launching him into some trees on the other side.

Nelson came to rest between trees and a power pole and was trapped. County Road 50 was shut down while Nelson was extricated.

Nelson was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for his non-life threatening injures, the crash is currently under investigation.
