Weekend Weather Storm Predictions
02/08/2013 - 10:30 AM
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the St. Cloud area from late Saturday night through late Sunday night. The forecast has St. Cloud possibly receiving up to 15 inches of snow and strong winds of 20-30 miles per hour.
However, SCSU Meterology Professor Bob Weisman predicts that St. Cloud will see a mix of wet snow, sleet, freezing rain or just rain so snow accumulations will be difficult to predict.
According to Weisman, the most problematic time will be from midnight until 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, when the mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain could produce an inch or two of wet snow or ice on the ground.
