#3 Husky Wrestlers Take Down #1Newberry

The third-ranked Husky wrestling team took town top-ranked Newberry 23-12 to claim the championship of the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals (box) held in Springfield, Illinois.
Junior heavyweight Jake Kahnke had two wins on the day, as did seniors Tad Merritt, Derek Skala and Lucas Munkelwitz.
The Huskies final match with Newberry was tied 9-9 after the first five weights, but SCSU won four of the last five for the title. The Husky wrestling team is back in action on Friday at Northern State.
